ACV and pH Balance
Last year I tried a product that was supposed to help balance my pH (potential of Hydrogen), but I didn’t notice any difference at all. Our bodies weren’t designed to live on ‘products’ in my opinion. Our bodies are created to be fueled by fresh, clean water and whole foods…
Here’s a quick refresher on how pH works in our bodies. Ph is the balance between acidity and alkalinity in our bodies. According to Merck Manuals Online Medical Library and Livestrong on a scale of 0 to 14, blood that is slightly alkaline pH (between 7.35 to 7.45) is optimal.
Most modern food choices send us toward the acid side of the pH. Only through conscious decision do we head for the greener pastures of alkalinity. From personal experience, I can vouch for the extreme differences I have felt in eating both healthful, raw, highly alkaline foods as well as the times I indulged in the standard American diet with all of it’s acidic choices. I can literally feel the difference! From my two and a half years of very high raw food diet, I am very familiar with the alkaline buzz (as I call it)

These last few weeks have been wonderful and crazy hectic. My baby girl got married to a wonderful young man. We did everything ourselves, including hosting most of the 21 family and friends that flew in for the celebration. Let’s just say there were quite a few cupcakes and cups of coffee, and I am feeling it… Sluggish and slow, achy and blah…
So it is that when I happened across my bottle of Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) day before yesterday, I remembered that it was recommended to help with alkalinity. There are so many articles and testimonies about the wonderful things that ACV can do for people! Just Google ACV and you will see what I mean… Everything from weight-loss to household cleaner to curing the incurable.
I happily dug out my measuring shot-glass and downed 2 teaspoons of ACV and a whole glass of water. Going on about my day, I realized that I felt so much more energetic and motivated. I know it sounds crazy, but I’m telling the truth! I’ve been taking 2 teaspoons of ACV with water two to three times a day for most of this week and I am sold! This is my now officially my second step that I recommend for anyone wanting to get their body Back to Basics.
* Raw Apple Cider Vinegar is recommended. It will have a bit of stuff that settles to the bottom. This is called the ‘mother’ and is very important to the benefits of the ACV. Bragg’s brand makes a great ACV.
**Balance is important in all walks of life: food, exercise, time, money and entertainment just to name a few. If we are out of balance in any one area, it tends to throw off the rest. As a life-coach, this is what I do. Balance is my middle name!
